A good example of how make a magazine visually interesting in one color: black. The department pages are held together with thick rules in black and tone and a clever idea of breaking some of the items out of the rule boxes. The feature pages use a floating column moving wherever it works best depending on the layout.
The magazine was printed on very cheap paper which is why there is no color inside. The covers were on semi-gloss to allow for a four color image. Despite the lack of money for paper and the art budget the pages look busy and interesting. The spreads below are a selection from the seventy-two pages in this issue.
