Some interesting advertising by national brands from the thirties and forties featuring copy that surely must have been written by white ad agency copywriters on Madison Avenue, maybe the nearest they got to experiencing black America was listening to Amos 'n' Andy. The one for Ivory soap (the Redcap holding the baby) does seem quite extraordinary reading it now.
